Population Policies Board and Family Institute Established
Within two separate Presidential Decrees published in the Official Gazette No. 32763 dated December 25, 2024, two important institutions were established within the Ministry of Family and Social Policies.
The first of these, the Population Policies Board, was established to adopt holistic and coordinated population policies and ensure their more effective implementation and to monitor and evaluate developments in the demographic structure. If deemed necessary, private sector, NGOs and professional organizations, unions and university representatives may be invited to Board meetings.
The Family Institute was assigned to work on research on strengthening the Turkish family structure and values, increasing the social welfare of the family, and policies regarding women, children, disabled people, seniors, relatives of martyrs, veterans and veterans' relatives.
